So here's how the last couple of weeks went at my house:
Starbuck: PLAY!!!
me: The vet said you have to take it easy so you don't pop a stitch, so we can only play fetch.
Starbuck: NO FETCH! CHASE ME!!
me: No. The vet said you have to take it easy.
Starbuck: VET SUCKS AND IS MEAN. PLAY!!!!
me: Would you please chill out? Here, sit down and I'll pet you...
Starbuck: *ignores me* *to the boy* PLAY!!!!!
the boy: *looks at me hopefully*
me: No rough-housing. She's going to pop a stitch.
the boy: :(
Starbuck: D: MOM SUCKS AND IS MEAN. PLAAAAAY.
the boy: *throws a ball half-heartedly*
Starbuck: *watches it roll by*
the boy: *sigh*
Starbuck: *sigh*
The good news: stitches came out yesterday. There was rough-housing today. All is right with the world...or at least, the occupants of this house. For now.
