So while the boy was away and I had a free weekend, I saw movies.

First, I finally got around to seeing the latest Harry Potter. It made me sad. And I'm kind of glad that someone told the boy that there was kissing, because he would have been bored for most of the last half. That said, I will never tire of Quidditch scenes on a big screen.

Sunday, the beau and I took our moms to see "Julie and Julia". I liked it quite a bit, especially the scenes between Julia Child and her husband. And by the time the movie was over, I was dying of hungry. I am not sure this is a vegetarian-friendly movie, though. Julie has to cook lobsters and de-bone a duck. Fair warning.

And then last night the beau and I went to see "District 9", which was a very good piece of intellectual sci-fi. And may also be not vegetarian-friendly. There were a lot of gooshy bloody bits that I watched from in-between my fingers. But as far as plot and story go, it was remarkable. Sadly, all but one of the trailers beforehand were for gore porn horror movies. I don't even watch horror movies, and I'm sick of them, just from the ads. But "District 9" was cool.

He's home tomorrow. :D
